"Black". . . is the new. . . black?

Recently, I've been buying black clothing other any other color. Black will always be in. I got a really good deal on a nice black leather jacket;

It's so comfortable. The inside is soft and squishy. It's going to be real nice to where during winter. Kind of to hot now..

I've found you can get the BEST DEALS at TJ-Max. That's where I got this jacket. Plus, I've gotten a Betsy Johnson bathing suit top for $15 and a a Ralf Lauren v-neck for $10 along with much more reasonable price items.

I purchased this jacket at the store I work at, Forever21. I fell in love with the shoulders. When you put it on your shoulders look so straight like a solders posture. It makes me look very elegant and kind of proper.

The material is really soft and the inside is that fuzzy, almost silk like material that feels like heaven when its against your skin. The jacket is cut short and matches very nicely with these black nice-waist shorts I own.

Is jacket has many awesome little details about it. Like the buttons, they look kind of antique and old fashion (if you know me at all, you would know I love antique looking things). Also the sleeves are poofy at the bottom which is a unique and very pretty aspect.
Photobucket
I like that the sleeves are a quarter and don't go all the way down to my wrist.

The buttons are pretty big but I like them.. this jacket reminds me of a bull fighter or something hahahaha

Another recent purchase is this studded leather vest. How beautiful is it? Studs are very in this year. Alexander Wang created a gorgeous studded leather bag

Mary-Kate Olsen would be seen with it ^^ I think its so neat and original that the whole bottom of the bag is studs, its so beautiful <333
But anyways, I wish the studs were gold, I mean I wear gold but the silver looks nice too. Its very edgy but can be added to a real cute outfit without making it look like the typical "badass bitch" outfit hahaaaaa

My week at The Art Institute in Fort Lauderdale, FL

So for the past week I took a course called College Connection at The Art Institute in Fort Lauderdale, bout 15min from where I live. It was mostly Juniors and Seniors in high school and just all of us getting together and learning and experiencing more in the art field that we're interested in. I was in Fashion Design & Merchandising along with about 20 other girls.

It was truly awesome. I met amazing people from all other the United States plus some people from out of the country. It was nice to chat with other teens about our about our passion and future plans.

So throughout the week we designed and sew together an outfit with the help of students and teachers at the school. They taught us what sewing technique to use and how to use these crazy industrial sewing machines. The last day of class, we all gathered at the hotel across from the school, including our families and teachers, and everyone got to show off what they did for the week. The photography class showed their pictures and the film class showed a production they created and the fashion design/mech. class did a fashion show so we all walked on a runway and showed off our designs. In the end our designs got judged and they choice a winner. I am proud to say that I won first place in the fashion design/mech class :O) I'm very proud of myself! All my had work paid off!

It was really a group effort! And an amazing experience and I'm sure every girl will go far in what they want to do! I even met a couple girls that read my blog. Thank you!
Doing this really proved to myself and others, like my friends and family, that you can really do whatever you want if you try your hardest and really concentrate on what you want. I'm sure I sound really cheesey and kind of like your grandma but hey, its true.. if you really had a passion and love for something you would put yourself out there and give it your all and you would succeed. I am proof of so!

Anyways, I have much in store for my upcoming blogs. On top of that I'm started to work with a fabulous lady that produces fashion shows in Miami so I'm going to help her work them! Shes going to teach me all the marketing side of fashion shows plus dressing behind the stage. Sounds fun huh?
